Services Overview

I am a Registered Psychologist in private practice in the Comox Valley and other communities on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. I have specialized in child development/mental health and caregiver-infant/child attachment.  I provide a wide variety of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe assessment and intervention services for caregivers and infants/children experiencing challenges (e.g., with child development, eating, sleeping, or self-regulation) and/or in their attachment relationships.  I also provide training and supervision to professionals and am a court-appointed expert in these two areas in Alberta.  I also conduct Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments, particularly of children under six years of age, and provide parents of neurodivergent children (and professionals involved) with consultation.

I also work as a Child Specialist to offer a team-based and attachment-informed Collaborative Process to support families in transition related to separation and divorce. I am also a Roster Member of the BC Hear the Child Society.

I have worked on the traditional territories of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations (Port Alberni), Squamish Nation (Shéwaynewas Family Program), Ayas Men Men Child & Family Services, (North Vancouver), and Long Lake 58 First Nation (Long Lake, Ontario) and supported Indigenous families involved with the Calgary Urban Project Society, the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development, and Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society.

I interned at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Texas. Previous work experience includes several years with the Alberta Health Services (in the Preschool Autism, Feeding Consultation, Developmental, and Neuromotor Clinics) and 17 years in private practice.

My previous academic appointments include as a Clinical Associate in the Department of Psychology and Simon Fraser University, as a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia, and in the Faculty of Education at Vancouver Island University.  I am also an organic gardener, guardian of many animals, including two cats and two sheep (who I raise for their fleece), a knitter, potter, and a cold water swimmer.
